Competitors Edge by Vanessa Prebyl

A Weekly Blog By Nationally Ranked Bikini Competitor Vanessa Prebyl

I won 4th place at the Emerald Cup!!!!!! I am so EXCITED!!!!! I worked so hard and was so happy that all of my hard work had paid off. It feels so AMAZING!! I even had my suit made from my own design that Berns from Passion Fruit made for me. The Bikini fit perfectly :-) I met so many amazing people at the show. Hands-down the BEST show I have been to. If you want to hear more about my experience at the Emerald Cup, check out my interview that will be posted on www.promotingwomen.blogspot.com.

The Emerald Cup promoters Craig and Elaine put on an AMAZING show. They really spoiled the competitors with a free canister of protein, a tank top, a free makeup artist on site, and a huge bag of goodies at check-in. The show also ran so smoothly with each class knowing exactly where and when they should be going on stage. The promoters even made out Bikini prejudging and finals back-to-back so we didn't have to wait around for the night show. I LOVED THAT!!!! :-) I would have to say back stage was high-energy and high-fun!!! All of the girls were having a blast.

I must say I did have a very nice meal after the show. YUM-YUM!! My husband and I drove to the Cheesecake Factory and I ordered the chicken quesadilla and the red velvet cheesecake. Wow, it tasted very good. I am not used to such rich foods. I finished the whole thing and I didn't even feel bad about it.

Another thing that made me very happy was that the weather in Snoqualmie (which is 20 minutes or so from Seattle) was actually nice. I was expecting rain and freezing cold, but it didn't rain until after the show and the temperature stayed above 60*. As a California girl I think anything below 75* is cold LOL, but it was ok.

My next goal is to go to New Jersey and compete in Team Universe on July 10th and come out with my pro-card. I am so excited. I purchased an AWESOME bikini from Passion Fruit Designs and love how it fits. I am going to ROCK the stage and put a little pep-in-my-step and show the judges and audience what I am working with :-) Oh ya baby!!!! This is the year and I am going to give it all I have.

  1. I am so happy for you! Congratulations! I would like to compete next year. I am a personal trainer. Should I be able to train myself for the emerald cup?
