On October 6th Invicta Fighting Championships put on their third show. Once again they delivered. The night featured some exciting finishes, both via strikes and submissions. The night ended with Jessica Penne becoming the first person to hold an Invicta title as she defeated Naho Sugiyama via submission. This was an opportunity to see both new and upcoming young fighters as well as established pros.
1. Pro Featherweight
Ediene Gomes (8-2) vs Katalina Malungahu (2-0)
RD 1: They come out trading punches. Gomes hurts her with punches. Takedown by Gomes and she goes for a leg. Malungahu escapes and pulls guard. They stand and clinch on the cage. Gomes gets a takedown and gets mount. Gomes lands punches. Gomes gets her back and goes for a rear naked. Malungahu gets out of the choke but Gomes is back in mount. Gomes is landing punches. RD 1: Frausto charges in and lands punches and gets a takedown into half guard. Frausto stands and drops down punches. They both stand with Frausto looking for a guillotine. Davis takes her down but Frausto still has the guillotine and gets the tap.
