UFC 257 took place January 23rd from Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In women's action Joanne Calderwood got back on track taking a unanimous decision from Jessica Eye. Early the bout was fought mostly in the clinch with both having success. As the bout wore on Calderwood began to take more and more control and land the harder punches. Earlier Marina Rodriguez defeated Amanda Ribas. Round one saw Ribas get the fight to the ground and use her superior grappling. However in round two Rodriguez dropped her with punches and got the stoppage. Also Julianna Pena scored a win over Sara McMann. It was a close fight with McMann controlling round one on the ground but Pena coming back to take the second round and in round three got the choke for the win. 4. Bantamweight: Julianna Pena (11-4) defeated Sara McMann (12-6) via Tapout (Rear Naked Choke) at 3:39 of Round 3.
5. Middleweight: Brad Tavares (18-7) defeated Antonio Carlos Junior (11-5, 1NC) via Unanimous Decision (30-27/30-27/29-28). We scored it 29-28 Tavares.
6. Lightweight: Arman Tsarukyan (16-2) defeated Matt Frevola (8-2-1) via Unanimous Decision (30-27/30-27/30-26). We scored it 29-28 Tsarukyan.
7. Strawweight: Marina Rodriguez (13-1-2) defeated Amanda Ribas (10-2) via TKO at :54 of Round 2.
8. Middleweight: Makhmud Muradov (25-6) defeated Andrew Sanchez (13-6) via TKO at 2:59 of Round 3.
