On December 3rd NAAFS presented Combat Challenge 17. With only the all Female Eve of Destruction left on the schedule for 2011, this was the final card of the year for the male fighters. And the NAAFS ended the year with a great card. Some great fights and some incredible finishes. Windom Craig, Adam Bosley and Devontae Smith made good impressions and for the second time in two fights I was very impressed with Adib Nour.
In addition to my own scoring, I have included the scoring of my new writer Landry Yankle.
1. Amateur Featherweight

RD 1: Jab by Flowers They clinch and a takedown by Flowers. Leininger lands from the bottom. Flowers tries to posture up but can't. Flowers now is able to posture up but doesn't do any damage. Flowers stands and lets Leininger up. Two hard hooks by Flowers and Leininger pulls him down with Flowers on top. Flowers gets side control but Leininger pulls guard. Leininger tries for a arm but Flowers lands hammer fists to get the arm out.

Dustin Bertch (0-0 Jamestown MMA) vs Jose Alvarado (0-0 VIP D-Boz)
RD 1: Leg kick by Alvarado. Takedown by Bertch. Bertch postures up and lands shots. Bertch pushes him to the cage. Punches by Bertch. Alvarado gets an armbar but Bertch pulls him up and slams him to break the hold. Bertch gets his back and a rear naked choke for the tap.

Derrick Hill (0-0 Dojo Fight Club) vs Nick Brown (0-0 Uniontown Fight Club)
RD 1: Both land leg kicks. Jab and hook by Brown. Clinch by Hill and he lands a knee. They separate. Punches by Brown. Takedown by Hill. They stand right back up. Hard hook by Brown. Takedown by Brown but Hill is looking for a guillotine. Body shots by Brown. Brown escapes the guillotine and lands hard punches. More hard shots by Brown. Brown gets his back and lands more shots. The ref stands them. Clinch in center of the cage and a knee by Brown.

Clinch against the cage and a hook by Schaffer. Spin kick by Gomez. Gomez tries for a single and they clinch on the cage. Body shots by Schaffer. Knee by Schaffer. Gomez drops down and Schaffer gets in his guard. Schaffer stands and drops down a body shot and then gets his back. Body shots by Schaffer and then head shots. Schaffer hooks a rear naked and gets the tap.

RD 1: McQueen charges in and they clinch. McQueen drops him with a hook and gets on top, but Craig reverses and gets on top. McQueen is looking for a guillotine but Craig pulls his head out and gets mount. Craig lands head shots. McQueen gets up and they clinch. Craig hurts him with punches and a hook drops McQueen to end it.
