Invicta FC 42: Cummins vs Zappitella Results

Invicta FC 42 took place September 17th from Police Athletic League. In the main event Alesha Zappitella became the new atomweight champ with a win over Ashley Cummins. Early it was Cummins power controlling the fight landing much harder shots. In the third Zappitella got a takedown and did some work to seize moment. In round four she took it back down and was able to get the choke and the win. Here are all your results and our Of The Night Awards.

1. 120LB Catch Weight: Helen Peralta (3-1) defeated Jennifer Chieng (1-1) via Unanimous Decision (30-27/30-27/30-27). We scored it 30-27 Peralta.

2. Flyweight: Victoria Leonardo (7-2) defeated Liz Tracy (5-4) via Unanimous Decision (29-28/29-28/29-28). We scored it 29-28 Tracy.

3. Strawweight: Jessica Delboni (10-2) defeated Herica Tiburcio (11-5) via Unanimous Decision (30-27/30-27/29-28). We scored it 30-27 Delboni.

4. Bantamweight: Lisa Verzosa (6-1) defeated Raquel Canuto (6-7) via Split Decision (28-29/29-28/29-28). We scored it 29-28 Verzosa.

5. Atomweight Title: Alesha Zappitella (8-1, 1NC) defeated Ashley Cummins (7-6) via Tapout (Von Flue Choke) at 1:20 of Round 4.
