UFC had it's first event of 2021 on January 16th from Fight Island in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In women's action Jocelyne Edwards made her promotional debut a successful one taking a decision from Yanan Wu. Round one saw Wu take the fight to the ground but Edwards get the dominant position and land strikes. Rounds two and three stayed mainly on the feet with Edwards using her speed and power advantage to take the rounds. Earlier Vanessa Melo got her first UFC win taking a decision from Sarah Moras. 1. Featherweight: Austin Lingo (8-1) defeated Jacob Kilburn (8-4) via Unanimous Decision (30-26/30-26/30-27). We scored it 30-27 Lingo.
2. Bantamweight: Vanessa Melo (11-8) defeated Sarah Moras (6-8) via Unanimous Decision (30-27/29-28/29-28). We scored it 29-28 Melo.
3. Welterweight: Ramazan Emeev (20-4) defeated David Zawada (17-6) via Split Decision (28-29/29-28/29-28). We scored it 29-28 Zawada.
4. Heavyweight: Carlos Felipe (10-1) defeated Justin Tafa (4-2) via Split Decision (28-29/29-28/29-28). We scored it 29-28 Tafa.
5. Bantamweight: Joselyne Edwards (10-2) defeated Yanan Wu (11-4) via Unanimous Decision (30-27/30-27/29-28). We scored it 30-27 Edwards.
6. Middleweight: Punahele Soriano (8-0) defeated Dusko Todorovic (10-1) via TKO at 4:48 of Round 1.
7. Middleweight: Alessio Di Chirico (13-5) defeated Joaquin Buckley (12-4) via KO at 2:12 of Round 1.
8. Welterweight: Li Jingliang (18-6) defeated Santiago Ponzinibbio (28-4) via KO at 4:25 of Round 1.
9. Welterweight: Carlos Condit (32-13) defeated Matt Brown (24-18) via Unanimous Decision (30-27/30-27/30-27). We scored it 29-28 Condit.
10. Featherweight: Max Holloway (22-6) defeated Calvin Kattar (22-5) via Unanimous Decision (50-43/50-43/50-42). We scored it 50-42 Holloway.
