The second Contender Series took place August 11th from UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. In women's action Cory McKenna won a decision and earned a contract over Vanessa Demopoulos. Rounds one and two saw Demopoulos content to go to her back and look for submissions while McKenna escaped and avoided them and landed ground and pound when she could. Round three saw McKenna land some hard punches on the feet and some ground and pound. All three judges sided with her. Here are all your results and our Of The Night Awards.
1. Middleweight: Impa Kasanganay (7-0) defeated Anthony Adams (8-2) via Unanimous Decision (29-27/29-27/29-27). We scored it 29-28 Kasanganay.
2. Featherweight: T.J. Laramie (12-3) defeated Daniel Swain (20-10-1) via TKO (Doctors Stoppage) at 5:00 of Round 1.
3. Strawweight: Cory McKenna (5-1) defeated Vanessa Demopoulos (5-2) via Unanimous Decision (30-27/29-28/29-28). We scored it 29-28 Demopoulos.
4. Bantamweight: Adrian Yanez (11-3) defeated Brady Huang (11-2) via TKO at :39 of Round 1.
5. Middleweight: Dustin Stoltzfus (13-1) defeated Joseph Pyfer (7-2) via TKO (Injury) at 4:21 of Round 1.
