UFC 239 took place July 6th from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. In women's action, Amanda Nunes retained her Bantamweight Title by defeating former champ Holly Holm by TKO in round one. Both fighters cautiously landed punches and kicks early in the round till Nunes stepped up the aggression and dropped her with a head kick and followed up with punches till the ref stopped it. Earlier Claudia Gadelha took a decision from Randa Markos in a lackluster bout that saw both fighters hesitant to engage, but Gadelha did just enough to take the rounds. Earlier, Julia Avila won her UFC debut taking a decision from Pannie Kianzad. Avila was able to continue to out land her and when Kianzad forced the clinch, Avila did more damage.
