Cage Warriors 109 took place October 26th from Resorts World Arena in Birmingham, England. In the main event Jai Herbert successfully defended his lightweight title with a knockout of Cain Carrizosa. Herbert came out aggressively right from the beginning backing his opponent up with hard punches. They clinched up with Herbert doing nice work in the clinch. UFC Fight Night 162: Maia vs Askren Results
UFC Fight Night 162 took place October 26th from Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore. In women's action Randa Markos took split decision in a very good fight with Ashley Yoder. Most of the fight took place on the ground with each round playing out fairly similar with Yoder starting out on top and landing some punches with Markos looking for submissions from the bottom and sweeping to get on top and doing her own damage. In the end two of the three judges sides with Markos. Earlier Loma Lookboonmee made a good impression in her UFC debut taking a split decision from Alexandra Albu. Lookboonmee used her superior Muay Thai to land very good strikes both in and out of the clinch that had Albu's face damaged. BKFC 8 took place October 19th from Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa, Florida. In women's action Delaney Owen won her BKFC debut by defeating Sheena Starr. Round one saw Starr coming forward aggressively with Owen content to back up and look to counter. Starr looked to have been hurt but kept coming forward. UFC on ESPN 6 took place October 18th from TD Gardens in Boston, Massachusetts. In women's action Maycee Barber took the next step in her career making short work of Gillian Robertson. Right out of the gate Barber was landing hard punches that had Robertson reeling. Robertson looked for takedowns but was unable to secure them and Barber landed more shots and the ref called it off. UFC Fight Night 161: Joanna vs Waterson Results
UFC Fight Night 161 took place October 12th from Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida. In the main event Joanna Jedrzejczyk seemingly earned a strawweight title shot taking a decision from Michelle Waterson in a very good fight. Most of the fight saw Jedrzejczyk outlanding Waterson and landing the harder strikes. Waterson looked for take downs but couldn't seem to get them outside of two instances where she did get Jedrzejczyk's back standing. In the end Jedrzejczyk took the decision. Earlier Amanda Ribas made a statement handing Mackenzie Dern her first defeat. The bout was almost entirely on the feet and Ribas just had superior striking and Dern was able to mount much offense. Earlier JJ Aldrich took a decision from Lauren Mueller. After two close rounds Aldrich put on a display in round three rocking Mueller multiple times to take the decision. PFL: 2019 #7 Playoffs Results
The PFL playoffs began October 11th from Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. In women's action Kayla Harrison advanced to the finals by defeating last minute replacement Bobbi Jo Dalziel. Harrison quickly took Dalziel down and landed some punches from the top and from her back. With about two minutes left in the round Harrison began looking for the armbar and got it for the tap. She will be opposed in the finals by Larissa Pacheco who took a decision from Sarah Kaufman. Rounds one and two saw Pacheco land the harder punches and add in some well timed takedowns. Round three saw Kaufman attempt to comeback and land some good shots but it was too little too late. Alaska Fighting Championships 153: Plazola vs Novelli Results
AFC 153 took place October 9th from Alaska Airlines Center in Anchorage, Alaska. In the night's main event Niko Novelli defeated Mike Plazola in round two. UFC 243 took place October 5th from Marvel Stadium is Melbourne, Australia. In women's action, Megan Anderson bot back on track with a first round finish of Zarah Fairn. Anderson quickly got the fight to the ground and got mount and landed some short elbows and punches. Invicta FC 37: Gonzalez vs Sanchez Results
Invicta FC 37 took place October 4th from Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kansas. In the main event Pearl Gonzalez got back on track taking a decision from previously unbeaten Brogan Sanchez. The story of the bout was Gonzalez getting the fight to the ground and while Sanchez avoided any real damage, she also wasn't able to muster much offense allowing Gonzalez to cruise to the win. In the co-main event, Mariya Agapova continued to impress defeating Marilia Santos in round one. Agapova got it to the ground and was in total control.
