Hey everybody! My name is Macey Leigh and I have been asked to write a weekly column for Jason’s awesome blog. I just want to take a few minutes to tell you a little bit about myself, and what the focus of this column will be. I am 25 years old, and I have been training since I was 15, but only competing for one season. This upcoming one will be my second season, and I am looking forward to preparing for Collegiate Figure Nationals the end of July. While I love training and it is a huge part of my life, I am also a full time law student. I am in my second year at Indiana University Maurer School of Law—specializing in Health Law, and Sports Law. While many times, people will look at the things I do in my life as being some what inspirational, I have my own struggles on a daily basis that keep me from being my best. There have been days in the recent past where I didn’t leave my bed, binged on junk food, and have not made it to the gym. There are months that I have been depressed and have struggled to find a way to pull myself out of it. I have hit rock bottom, a few times in my life, and somehow, I’m still here. I am a survivor—and if I can do it, I know that you can to. I’m really excited to share my thoughts and answer questions for you as you follow me on my journey. In the meantime, please feel free to check out my website, www.maceyleigh.net for more information about me and remember, you can become what you love.
